Declaration of accessibility

Muzeum Ziem Wschodnich Dawnej Rzeczypospolitej in Lublin (Museum of the Eastern Territories of the Former Commonwealth)

NOTE!

Museum of the Eastern Territories of the Former Commonwealth in Lublin, a branch of the National Museum in Lublin, is a newly established cultural institution, for which a historic building that had not been comprehensively renovated for a very long time, was handed over. Therefore, the architectural accessibility of the building at the moment is poor. The museum is still in the process of preparing for a major refurbishment to create a modern exhibition space that is also accessible to people with disabilities.

Architectural accessibility

The museum does not have a car park for visitors. The nearest public car park with parking spaces for people with disabilities is located at ul. Radziwiłłowska.

Museum accessibility for people with mobility impairments

The Museum of the Eastern Territories of the Former Commonwealth is partially accessible for people with mobility impairments. The main entrance to the Museum is located at the level of Plac Litewski. These are wooden, heavy doors of sufficient width through which - with the help of a porter or assistant - a person in a wheelchair can pass. For this reason, entering the building may cause some discomfort for a person with a mobility impairment.

The ground floor of the Museum houses a cloakroom, gatehouse, staff offices, including the 'From the Borderlands Saved' collection point (“Z kresów ocalone"), and toilets. Toilets are inaccessible for people with mobility impairments.

All exhibition and lecture theatres are located on the first floor. As the building does not have a lift, the facility on the upper floors is therefore inaccessible to visitors with mobility impairments.

Wheelchair users only have access to the administration and office area, which is located on the ground floor.

Museum accessibility for people with hearing disabilities

The museum is not equipped with induction loops, nor does it have information for visitors in Polish Sign Language.

Museum accessibility for people with visual disabilities

The museum does not have materials prepared for the blind and visually impaired. The tour route has not been specially marked, so we recommend visiting with an assistant or asking an exhibition guide/museum staff member for help.

Accessibility of the service for people with disabilities

An additional accessibility menu was used. It is located in the top right corner.
